Vintage Thingy Thursday
Time to bring out the flower doilies that my Grandmother made.  I am so blessed to have these.  Each one is so unique.

I love the colors in these pansies. Just wish I could get the yellow stains out...

This Daffodil  doilie  is perfect for March.  My first opened up today!

This ring of flowers is just the right place to show off this blown glass bird.

Thanks again Suzanne for giving us this great outlet for sharing the vintage things in our lives at

What priceless treasures. Just think of the time she invested in each of these works of "heart."

Wow. Those are so pretty. I'm so impressed with the ladies who made those.

So so pretty....I have one with pansies like this, but not that my grandmother made...how lucky you are! There is a cleaner I got from the web, called "Retro Clean" that says it can safely remove yellow or brown stains from vintage fabrics...if you google "Retro Clean" you can go th their site and purchase some....I have heard glowing reports...I have yet to use mine, I know you have to put them in a tub or big bowl with some water and the powder and put them in the sun...after you have washed them....it is worth a try for such lovely memories!

Oh how I love the lovely crocheted doilies you shared. I have some from my grandmother too. She had some that were starched so much that they stood up like waves around her treasures. Do you remember those?
Thanks for sharing your pretty treasures that mean so much to you.
Hugs, Jeanne

I have way too many linens and doilies, but love them. I have them all over my house. Suzanne can tell you how to get the stain out of them.

Try soaking the doily in Biz, which is a powder that comes in a box in the laundry detergent aisle. I've used it to remove yellow stains from a vintage table cloth. I just followed the directions on the box.

My grandmother used to make a lot of these flower trimmed doilies. You're so lucky to have them. I have had amazing success getting spots out just by hanging the item in the sun all day.

These are really pretty......hope you can remove the stains.....sometimes if you put white vinegar on them and let them sit out in the sun it will lift them....just be careful not to get it on the colored flowers....
