R is for Rest and Relaxation

Awww.... Rest and Relaxation

That is what I am thankful for this week!
So few people understand the benefits of resting.

Matthew 11:28-30
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."  (Message Version)

Religion is not what God intended, it was a Relationship with Him!
When we come to Him we are Restored

Hebrews 4

God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we'll surely rest with God. So let's keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest,

Pray you can Rest in the knowledge that there is a God who is standing and waiting for you to turn around, Run into His arms and Rest in Him.

Thanks to ABC wednesday for the chance to share our R's today.

Day 7 Southern France to Pisa, Italy

Day 7 of our Europe Vacation

After some wonderful breakfast at the St Bauch B & B we took off for the French Rivera Cost line then drove over to Pisa, Italy.

Our Drive took us through the center of  Monaco  home to the Grand Prix and many Royal Weddings, to include Prince Rainier III to Grace Kelly

There are some amazing facts to be read about Monaco.   Monaco is a sovereign state boardered by France on three sides and the Mediterranean Sea.  It is 9.9 miles from Italy. It's land boarder is only 2.7 miles and 2.5 miles of coastland and the width is between 1.1 mil and 382 YARDS!
It's first casino opened in the late 19th century.
Monaco boasts the highest paid person per capita at $186,175.  With a 0% unemployement rate.
It's real estate goes for $56,300 per square metre.
It homes the highest number of millionaires and billonaires per capita in the world.

We stopped at a grocery store and bought cheeses, bread, sliced meat and fruit and had a wonderful lunch sitting at the edge of the water.

Driving on into Italy we enjoyed beauitful vistas of mountains and went through several tunnels.

Our hotel was right around the corner from the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  Did you know the tower was only built to be the bell tower for the church?
I wonder if it hadn't been structurally deficient if we
would ever had heard of it
For many years the tower was closed to visitors, it has been reinforced so that it is again safe.
Funny though, they didn't straighten it.

That's our drive through the south of France into Pisa Italy.  Tomorrow we head for Venicia. Hope you will join us.

Blessings, Debbie

Day 6 Europe Vacation

Day 6 Traveling from Paris to South of France
Today was Lexi's 16th birthday
Woke up in Paris and gathered all our belongings.  We took a Taxi to the air port where the car rental was.   A travel day at our leisure, so lots of wonderful stops along the way.  We love to just watch the countryside and if we see something we want to explore, we are willing to drive off the main road.  We have discovered the most beautiful places this way.

Seeing this city in the distance we had to go.  We found a completely walled in city that was still very lived in.

A stop for lunch in a small town along the way
We saw this church off in the distance.
We were amazed to find this beautiful cementary to walk through.
The dates were as old as 1600's.

Antique shop along the way.

Suze-la_Rousse Bed and Breakfast.  We had missed our turn and called the owners.
They drove to meet us at 10 pm!  They also e-mailed us these pictures of what their place looked like when it was purchased to be turned into the B & B.
What an amazing transformation!

Hope you enjoyed your drive through the south of France.
Come back next week as I share driving to Monte Carlo and Piza!
Blessings, Debbie

Pand Q

Wow, I have gotten behind again for Alphabet Wednesday

So I continue to think of things I have as blessings in my life.

I just got home from having lunch with one of my best friends. Over the years because we moved so often I had not made many deep friendships. Sad but just part of life.

We have lived here over 21 years now and I have two very close friends and others that are a special part of my life.

Patty is more like a sister than a friend.  I can call her any time, night or day and she would come running if I needed her.

The flowery P is perfect for her, she is  perky and plesant to be around and allows the fragrance of our shared love for God flow in her life.

For Q I am thankful that my hubby treats me like a Queen.  I struggle with back pain and he is always ready to picth in and help in any way possible.

Pray you have Quailty people in your life.
Blessings, Debbie

pink Saturday

Thiis week I was able to finish a project.  I had a gold frame that held 5- 4x6 photos that were of our grandchildren at birth with their names and birth date.  Perfect when trying to remember which day and year...Well we had a wonderful surprise and our 6th grandchild joined the family in March.

I used my cricut to cut out the mats andpainted the frame with a metalic paint.  I love it!

Have a Blessed week!  And check out all those other pinks at  :http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/
