Santa Baby

Driving into town
I SAW SANTA!
He has really turned hip with his RED motorcycle!

He had to be the real deal, even his beard was real.
He also looked like he was really enjoying a warm winter day.

Have a great time as you prepare for this guy to visit your place.

We had about 300 slides put on a disk recently and this was one of my favorite Christmas ones.  Our daughter would have been 4 and our son 2.

Christmas was so simple back then...

Thanks for coming by

It's A Girl!

We are going to be grandparents again in March!
We just found out that it is now a she.  Another wonderful bundle of pinkalicious to love on.

I have started picking up little things when I am out and thought what a perfect day, PINK Saturday, to share the news.

I love these sweet little wraps!  No legs or arms just fuzzy warmth.
And who could pass up these sweet booties.

This is a new hat I just finished.  My sister and I are starting an Etsy Shop.  If you love hats do come by!

Bloggerette Society Exchange

I haven't received my package yet but my blogger has received hers.  Thought I would share the fun things I sent.  My partner is a vintage/gothic gal who loves crows and skeletons.  I painted this apron with  fabric paint and added the key to it's heart lock.  Some fun socks, a mug and kitchen weekly menu and grocery list all went into the bag I made.  I know it's not "Halloween" but I wanted to make something she could use.  This bag is made out of a place cloth and perfect for a travel bag for cosmetics.
Sharing today with Suzanne and Vintage Thursday.

Wedding cake

Today for Blue Monday    , Wow Us Wednesday  and a new party Exodus 35 Creativity Party  I  want to share  share this wedding cake I did for my nephew and his wife a couple of weeks ago. It is closer to purple but that is made from blue so hope it counts.

The flowers are made out of gum paste using a set of flower tools I purchased from Wilton.  They were incredibly easy and they matched her flowers so well!

The grooms cake was a cowboy hat.  Not as perfect as I would have liked but it tasted good.
The beautiful woman in the champagne color dress is my little sister being escorted by her son with his to be mother in law on his left. Her husband is behind her.

The bride and groom.

I went to a baby shower recently and they had this awesome cake.
I didn't make it but I loved the idea.  The owl is going to be saved for the baby's first birthday.

Owl hat

Cold wind, gray skies and constant drizzle...Fall is truly here.
One of the prettier days from our deck
Time to get out the hats ladies!

Made this hat for my youngest granddaughter in Texas.  It gets cold enough, even in Houston for hats in the winter.  She asked for an owl.  I think it turned out so cute!   Plan on getting it in the mail tomorrow.
Here is one I just finished for Ann and I's shop.

I love this cabbage rose pattern I found!

Or maybe it's still to warm for a hat, try a headband.
Thanks Susan for hosting Outdoor Wednesday and a great new party I am joining for the first time at

Football, Basketball, Track who knew!

We just spent a wonderful week with our daughter and her busy family in Texas

I am amazed at how call she is with getting 4  kids to all the places they need to be.

Spending time in the car just picking them up from school was such a great time to visit.  Their schools are all on one campus and get out a different times to make pick up easier.  It still takes her at least an hour of sitting time though.
The school colors are perfect to share for
BLUE MONDAY and OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY

Fun in blue their school mascot
B is Number 17 a backup quarterback for the varsity team at 15!
He plays quarterback on the JV team but they got rained out. IT hadn't rained in months... :-(

A serious moment of prayer before his game.  Our youngest grandson.
A Patiently waiting her turn on the court.  Love the crossed legs on the b ball
Great to have her on your team!
This is at her brothers football game.

Made this while I visited for M

M took 9th place out of 90at her track meet.  She usually runs long distance at around 6 min. mile but this meet was a 1 mile run.

Grandson and his girlfriend
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
I am flying to Kansas to make my nephews wedding cake.

hats hats hats

A few years ago I hosted a Hat's off to mom party for our mothers and daughters.

For one of the games I painted these pictures of ladies in hats from across the years.

Then I had a sheet with all the years printed for them to try to decide which hat went with which year.

Hope you have a great week!
Blessings, Debbie

Hat

I am so excited to have somewhere to share my newest  work.  Make sure you stop by The Crochet Way and see all the other great creations and Blue Monday

I have been in a winter mood even though fall isn't even officially here.  I bought this yarn and started crocheting with no patern but knew I wanted to end up with a hat.  Not bad if I do say so myself!

Made this for one of my granddaughters who loves hats.

This short scarf was made with the left over yarn.  A large button hole makes an easy way to loop without the bulk.

Little Yellow House

Down the hill, around the corner.

That's where I grew up.  Our little house was painted yellow and trimed in brown.

It had what you would call an open concept living room and dinning room with the kitchen off to the right and mom and dads bedroom in the front to the right.  I could walk you through the layout blindfolded 40 years after I left that home.

On some of my trips back to KC I will take the turn and go past the old place.  I have taken my grandchildren by to see where gma grew up.

For years the lot next door was enpty and there was a small slope to the back of the lots to the woods.  We used to sled there and lots of cutting across to the next house to visit.

Going though some pictures today I found this one.
I helped dad build the garage and he had a space in the loft area of it with a window overlooking the back yard.  It was my space.  I had my art supplies and books there.  A special place to gett away by myself. The upstairs was my sisters and I room.  It was one big room with the small dormer corners.  Lots of angles to work around with the big brick chimeny flew up the center.  I remember the heat vent was the vent in the floor and you could over hear conversations in the living room.  The stairway was off the back of the kitchen.

The swing is where I had my first kiss.  Bob paid my little sister to go inside and leave us alone.  She told me years later she was peaking out the window.

Bob was my only boyfriend, we will share 40 years in a few weeks. Amazing, I can still remember the first time he held my hand and that first kiss.
Thanks for coming by and treaking down memory lane with me today.

The Difference

"Peace is not the absence of trouble,
but the presence of God in the trouble"Sheila Walsh

This weekend I spent two wonderful days with 7000  at the
Women of Faith conference.
One of the guest speakers was Sheila Walsh, a wonderful woman of God and author from Scotland.

There is no way to condence her sharing into a few words but the Lord truly is using this woman to bring the promises of God to light in womens lives.

She shared that peace has become a trendy word again, as it was in the 70's.  But true peace used in John 4:27 uses the greek word  ειρήνη  that means
"Total well being and security because
God's presence is with you."

There is a place where peace can always be found.
At the feet of Jesus and with His promises we choose to hold onto.

The bigger the trouble the faster you should run home to Him.

Bathroom Redo

This week I want to share my utility/bath makeover for
Blue Monday and  Metamorphosis Monday.
Make sure you click on their buttons on my side bar to visit!

When we moved in 8 years ago we redid the whole house with a tuscan theme.  I've gottten tired of the colors, so thought I would start with the utility/bath room. We live on the lake and I want a more casual theme. I want to paint all the woodwork white, it's cheep stuff not good wood.  The utility room was my practice room to see if it was something my hubby would want in the whole house.  He still isn't convinced but closer... Here is my new Blue room.

The framed picture is one I just enlarged on our computer from a photo we took in Florida a few years back.
I have several old windows and used one for the frame.
I used the cabinet we took down when we stacked the washer and dryer under the top one for more storage. I just flipped it so the handles were at the top.
I bought 3 floor tiles for the top.  They fit perfect.
Having the dog dishes in there isn't pretty but with a 145 lb dog you don't want her mess in the rest of the house!

before

I love how much brighter it feels.
Just for fun thought I would share this.
Hubby and I were playing scrabble on the computor
and this came up on his turn.
 Honesty we didn't change them!
I guess it takes knowing the alphabet to have an IQ!

Pray you have a wonderful week and thanks for coming by!

Pink Saturday Miracle Makeover

Here brother, kiss me right here.

Miracles happen every day.

We have to have open minds and eyes fixed on what's important to see them.  Going through my pictures I wondered what I wanted to share for this Miracle Makeover Weekend and Pink Saturday.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my two youngest grandchildren. She was 3 days old, is now in 1st grade, my how time flys!

I love makeovers for special people.  A few years back I did one for a cancer patient.  Here is my link to that picture

I pray that many of you choose to link and like in as many areas as you can!  Blessings, Debbie

Flowers and Goodwill find

When I saw this sweet vase at the Goodwill I knew I wanted it.  It was only $4. with half off!!! I tried to look up the arttist name but couldn't find anything so it's not worth anything as far as I know but I just fell in love with the soft pink and blues.
