1952 Advertisements in Pink.

Several years ago I was looking for a magazine that was Nov of 52  I actually found a Life Magazine.  Not only was it November 1952 but the 24th which is my birthdate!

This week I was cleaning and came across it in a closet and found these wonderful advertisements in PINK

The main story in this issue was if women were wearing too much jewelry!  I didn't know you could wear too much!
Did our mom really clean in heels?
Love the sleeves and collar on this blouse!
REALLY?
Who would be happy with this as a christmas gift
and who weighs in heels? Had to be a man writing this...

Hope you enjoyed this blast from the past.  Blessings, Debbie

haha, seriously! That is so funny. Of course we take off every possible thing before stepping on the scale. And, nobody better get me a scale for Christmas unless I ask specifically for one. Ha!
Great post. HPS!

Hi Deborah, visiting from Pink Saturday. I love these old ads. I think I was born in the wrong decade. (Not that I really believe I could do house work in heels - just like to think I can).

Cheers,
Lisa x

These adds are so darling. I love the first one, she is so cute with matching shirt and pink heels. All dressed up to clean up. WHOA. The second one -- well scales would be the last thing I would ask for.

That scale wit the high heels is funny! HaHa! A man must have put that marketing ad together! HPS! Love those old ads and that Life magazine. I hate all the gossip magazines today. Everyone involved in the lives of these celebrities etc. Have a great weekend. Come join me soon. Anne

The year I got married I got a vacuum for my birthday and I was very happy for it. We didn't have one at all. We were young and that was the excuse to spend the money. hahaha oh the days way back.... I do a lot of vintage things like this on my blog too and I actually just went through and put together some old ads that are very questionable that I plan to write on next week hope you come by.

Happy Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday!

That's right, most advertising was done by them...like Darren Stephen? :o)

This is very cool to me! Partly because I am 7 months and one day older than you! But mostly because I have a small collection of things from my birth year: a 1952 dime, a 1952 penny, and a hankie that has the calendar from the year 1952. I have them under the clear cutting mat on my work table. Oh, and I also have a Home Demonstration Club cookbook from that year as well. That was a great find! Becky G. in GA
