Outdoor Wednesday is here!
Yea we get to visit all those wonderful sites linked together by Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com
Trying to decide what to post this week has been hard. All of my 4th of July posts were done last Saturday and Monday...what is a painter to do?
So this post is quite different.
I am posting one of my inside play grounds that was painted like they were outside.
When the church was planning on the new extension to our building the plan was to hire someone to paint all the children's area. When I heard the numbers that were being given, I knew we needed to step up and do this work with the artist that attend our church.
What a blessing to be able to give the church this gift.
Three of us painted for 15 WEEKS about 6 hours 5 days a week on a total of 16 room and the hallway, it was worth every hour each time I walk in the doors.
The church also has this open to parents during the week to bring their children in to play beside being used by the Sunday School 2- 5 year old department on Sunday Mornings.
Just loved painting the oversized animals and toys for the room. Most of them are over 4 foot tall. The baseball is 2 foot across. Doesn't the dandelion look so real?
One big question was what to do with the large windows that open into the hall for parents to check on their kids. Two tree houses were tthe perfect solution. One for the boys and one for the girls. Notice the Colts banner? On the girls side we put a cute kitten in the upper window some lace and chimney. One of the artists had a airbrush that helped give the great wood effects. While we were there the company that was laying the 2 " soft play floor saw all the volunteer work that was being done and stayed an extra day on their time to do the special effects like the blue water on the floor and splashes of blue under the equipment that was put in and the climbing rock. What a blessing to know our work touched these workers.
It's so fun to sit in the church cafe, that has a large floor to ceiling window that looks into this playground, and watch the children play in this area.
Hope you have enjoyed my indoor/outdoor post.
Have a Blessed week. Debbie

Hello Debbie,
The indoor playground looks so much fun! How nice is it that it is very open to parents and kids not only during Sundays. It's a nice way for both to get together :-) My personal fave? Oh those tree houses. How clever was that? Looks 3D :-)
You guys are great and very talented to come up with this.
Belated Happy Blue MOnday! :-) I see your family spent a wonderful time that day.

What a fabulous place. I would love to live near here.
Hi Debbie
it is so nice to meet you through "Outdoor Wednesday"! Your mural work is beautiful ..the tree houses look so three dimensional I want to climb up into one of them. What a wonderful volunteer effort this was to make such a magical playroom for children to enjoy. Your church is very fortunate to have you, and all the others that helped, as members!
I love the paintings in your church. Thanks for directing me to your post. The picture of the barn is one that I took hoping to paint it one day. I'm going to start going to an art class so that I will take the time to paint. I have 12 grandchildren whom I stay very involved with, so I don't spend a lot of time doing things for myself. Other than enjoying those children, of course! Blessings, Gloria
What TALENT you have~ such a fantastic play area! I LOVE Basset Hound wall with dandelion...the tree houses are amazing :-)
Debbie this post es awesome. Very clever and perfectly wonderful wall art.
Hugs, Jeanne
What a wonderful idea giving the gift of your talent. It looks fabulous. How great it would also be if every doctors office, etc could be painted this way for the kids ♥ It instantly puts one at ease (even us 'big' kids!).
Thanks for stopping by for Outdoor Wed
You guys did an awesome job! Very cute and inviting for young and old alike! Serving together, though a lot of work, must have been a blessing.
I have perused several of your posts and enjoyed getting to see pics of family and fun times!
A joy stopping by to visit with you!
Kindly, ldh
I love this outdoor post! It looks so wonderfully inviting! I know those children and parents must really love this when the weather is not pleasant outside. It is wonderful to hear you and your fellow church artists did this. That's they way it should be! You ladies did an excellent job! It's fantastic!
Really awesome outdoors inside! What an awesome gift from God you have..
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

That is amazing what they have done inside the church for the little ones. My great grandson attended one similar, but nothing compared to this. What a wonderful blessing to all ages.
That is so incredibly lovely... wouldn't you just love to be a kid again and play there! Thanks for stopping by my blog and posting your lovely comment!
WOW! Look at you guys! Such a nice mural! I really love it. The expression on that dog's face is fabulous - such a 'come and play with me' look.
Nice job!
