Thank you Stephanie   http://angelicaccents.blogspot.com/

Hosting this fabulous party!

 Jewel Etta and Alva
My Maternal Grandparents
This picture was taken when they were first married. Grandma was 5' and Grandpa was 6'2"  Quite a pair.  They weathered the storms of the depression, but after 23 years of marriage and 5 children they ended their marriage. They both lived well into their late 90's and outlived their spouses. Grandma was a strong Christian and remarried Paul who I knew as grandpa until he passed away when I was 17.  I did get to visit my grandfather a few times.  He called every year on our shared birthday.  He remarried and they became  Christians about 15 years later.

Ralph and Nellie on their wedding day in 1946.

Mom and Dad were married 47 years.
They had 4 daughters. Three of us are happily married the fourth is mentally disabled and still lives with my 83 year old mother. Dad passed away in 1992
My beautiful Mom today.

Bob and I have been married 38 years. We meet at church when I was 15 and he was 17. He offered me his bible during the sermon and then put his hand over mine.  My heart was overwhelmed on this first sign of his friendship. He was my one and only boyfriend and is still my very best friend.and the love of my life.  We have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

When our daughter married she carried the white bible that held my bouquet.
When she had her first daughter I took my wedding dress and made a Christening gown that can be passed down to my great granddaughter someday.
Both of her girls have worn this dress.

The first picture is Mikayla and the   second is her sister Ashlyn.

Jim and Mary were married in  June of 1949

My Husbands parents are
both still living.
They are still farming over 340 acres of wheat.

May all you days be blessed with love that last a lifetime.

A darling story, sugar. Hubs and I didn't join a church until we had been married about 2 years but it was the best decision we ever made, chick.

Hi Debbie,
What a sweet story of how you met! I just love stories like that! I was my hubby's only girlfriend too. Your photos are just wonderful and how nice that you have them to share. I love how you took your wedding dress and made a christening gown out of it; a beautiful idea! It's lovely that it can be passed down from one generation to another! Sometimes I'm tempted to make something out of my wedding outfit.
I didn't mention it in my post but my hubby and I also spent many years in the Ministry. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by and leaving your nice comment.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Debbie,
Just love your wedding memories. The story in church and the white bible is beautiful. Making the Christening gown from your wedding gown is precious. What a wonderful and blessed gesture to do. She is a little darling too.
You and your beloved are as beautiful today as you were when you got married. You are a beautiful bride.
Just a lovely party.
Thank you for sharing and for stopping by and your kind comment.
I am so glad to find you and now I am a happy follower too.
Blessings,
Celestina Marie

Wow, to have all those nice family wedding photos and memories. I read about some very hard workers and strong people.

What a wonderful way to tell your family stories, with wedding photos. Your husband's parents sure do look like hard workers, as does your mum! My grandparents divorced after 56 years of marriage and 5 children, isn't that ... strange? <3

Thank you for sharing the stories of your parents' and grandparent's marriages.

I love the way you and your husband met. Sounds like God's hand of blessing was there from day one!!

How lovely that you were able to incorporate things from your wedding into things your daughter and granddaughter could use.

Blessings,

What a lovely trip down memory lane and such an excellent way for you to introduce us to all your dear family! Love the grandparents, parents and in-laws wedding pictures. You were such a beautiful bride and I so love the way you and your husband first met. When Christ is in your heart and your marriage, I believe it will always succeed. How wonderful that your wedding gown became such a special christening gown for your adorable grandbabies!

I'm so glad you were able to join us for the WEDDING BLOG PARTY!

What wonderful vintage photos!
I loved that you made the Christening gown from your wedding gown!
I used the cut off train from my Daughters wedding dress to make my Granddaughters first flower girl dress.
