My awesome blogging friends Who will be # 130?

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Good Morning Suzanne @http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/.  This is my first try at posting for the Vintage Thursday.

The picture above was taken at the funeral of their mother in 1932. My father-in -law was 4.
What an awesome old car!  Dad had been given a puppy.  He can't remember what he had named it.  The woman's arm to the right is his grandmother who cared for the children until his father remarried some years later.

Dad is 82 and still farms 340 acres out in Kansas.  We try to go out to help with harvest each year. This was taken last July after working on some of his combines.  My husband managed to stay much cleaner!

I love old pictures. What memories they inspire! Thanks for reminding me of your blog; I don't know why I couldn't find it. I'm putting it on my blog list so I don't lose it again!

Deb that is a great picture with the car. The puppy looks really cute. Love the outfit your Dad in Law is wearing! What a guy still farming all those acres.

What history. So sad the photos were taken at a funeral.

Such adorable little children they were. It does make me sad though, to see them so small and precious and know the top one was taken at their mama's funeral. I am glad to see he is doing well and going strong, still farming. That's terrific! Happy VTT and thanks for sharing a piece of your family history with us.
