Let's join Outdoor Wednesday with Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/   it is such a great place to visit!  I'm also linking to watery wednesday  with 2sweetnsaxy at .http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com.

To the right this little cherub is in one of my flower gardens.

The fountain and statue are a couple of my favorite photos that I took when on vacations in the states.  The fountain was taken at a park in Boston and the statue was taken on the coast line in San Francisco.

A small school about 10 miles from where I live wanted to redo their main entrance. They had seen my work at a restaurant I had done in the area that had my business card.
The elementary students voted to make the large entrance into an area like a park.  They rose the money and the school board matched what they rose.  I hired a painter to come in and do all of the background solid blue with a spray gun, and another artist to help with this job because of the shear size.
I designed the art and Kim, the other artist and I spent more than 40 hours painting.
Thank goodness the school owned an electric lift that we were allowed to use!
The walls were 20 feet at the back wall and then slanted up to 35 feet on the ceiling.

The blue hearon is a common site in our area.  If you look closely to the right of the picture on the left you can see one of the two doors into the gym.  The second door is to the left of Kim and I in the second picture these are on each side of the display cabinet.  The light post sign is the room number for the gym.

The school mascot is a tiger and their motto is respect. I really had fun on the detail of the area under the showcase and the surround to make it look like it fit into the park.

The lift was fun to use -NO scaffolding- for me at this height!
I really enjoyed getting the perspective of the kite on the flat part of this  30 foot ceiling.
I used a spray can of white paint to get the larger clouds on the ceiling.

When the painting was done there were artificial trees and benches and a couple of picnic tables purchased for times the children sat a read or visited before and after school.  I heard some of the teachers take the class out to the "park" for quiet reading and study times.
What fun when I was invited back to the school for their professional job day and was able to share how to plan and paint a mural.

Hope you enjoyed to tour of my outdoor park!  Come back again. Debbie

What wonderful work! And the area looks almost rural. Not to mention how happy the artists are!

This is great! Don't think I've seen this one before. Love the kite on the ceiling-remarkable you could do that since it was so high. One of my favorites is the tree---the leaves look phenomenol!!!. You and Kim look like you enjoyed yourselves. Love your REAL flowers too.

Loved all your outdoors shots and then was lost in admiration for your artwork inside the school.

Natasha loves cherubs, she would love the photos you posted. You are a very talented woman. I can't even draw stick figures. My son Jacob (6) was doing homework and he asked me to draw something (I can't remember what) and I drew a stick figure. He told me they were not allowed to draw stick figures at school. What is the world coming to - I will never be able to express myself in the artworld of stick figures. My husband and Jacob are both very talented - I'm very proud. Have a great week!!

Hi Debbie, Your photos are very good but your wall mural in stunning. This had to take great vision to plan such a hugs project. I am trying to picture you painting the kite on the ceiling. Fantastic art work. How lucky the school is to have found you to do this.

Hugs, Jeanne

Oh wow! I love your murals! I wish I had that kind of talent because I would love to have a mural in the nursery I am creating for my new grandson. Great shots of your little cherub and the statutes.
