|This picture was taken of our daughter on her first day at home. wrapped up in her soft pink blanket. We lived in a small village about 20 minutes outside Heidelberg Germany. Our neighbor, Tanta Heidi was the first person other than her daddy and I to hold her. Tanta Heidi was a fascinating woman. She was 88 in this picture. He husband had died many years before. She was a East German princess who's family had lost everything when fleeing during the war for their lives. Her husband was a foreign corespondent for the Hearst Newspaper. He was on the first exploration to the North pole! She had pictures of times she had traveled with him on assignment. She had lived for a month in Benito Mussolini Castle. |
She was the first foreign woman to christen an american ship. In her small apartment was a wall of pictures of her and princes and many other famous people.
Sunday is our daughters birthday.
She is such an amazing young woman. Busy mother of 4 she is always on the run.
She is a nurse in the level 3 neo-natle ward of a large children's hospital. She loves those little babies as if they were her own. I miss her so much and wish I could give her a big hug rather than a card and check...She really doesn't like her picture but for just this once, I want to show her off.
