It never seems to amaze me what some people do for "fun"!
I guess they do this so they can say they can walk on water.
I, on the other hand, would rather buy my fish in the winter.
Have a great Outdoor Wednesday and Watery Wednesday! Blessings, Debbie

Simply beautiful!
MY Watery Wednesday post
I have never ice fished; but my oldest son loves to do it. I hope and pray he never falls through the ice. Nice post!

What a beautiful view, you have...
And here as soon as the guns get put away from hunting season, the ice fishing gear comes out.
My sons LOVE it... & I am always surprised by the new ( & expensive) gear that they need to catch fish thru the ice...
That's how weekends are spent in our family
We too have a lot of people that ice fish around here!! But skiing is a big thing for the Pocono Mountain ski resorts in Pa. and they are having a banner year so far with the snow and cold temps.!
What a beautiful view to have off of your deck!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Debbie
oh wow! Even though you know its safe I would still be really nervous to walk out there!!
I have never seen people ice fishing. One thing for sure I would not. I love to fish with a pole on the banks of a river. My sister lives on a lake in Mississippi and it froze over. They could walk on it.
Such a neat post. I've never thought of it as walking on water. I acutally think it would be fun!! If I could find battery operated gloves! Your view looks pretty cool (ha)

You have a gorgeous view! I used to live on the Mississippi river and spent a few afternoons shaking my head a the ice fishermen, too. I could never understand the draw of sitting on a bucket staring at a hole in the ice on a frigid day.
That's a great photo. I'd rather be inside watching them than walking on the ice.
I love the snow and cold, but this is something I've never tried. I'm not so sure its something I'd enjoy. Thanks for sharing! If you have time, check out my post here www.adventureswithjessica.blogspot.com . I’m trying really hard to increase my number of followers and could use your help! Thanks!
Pretty photo but it would be far to cold for me.
Although in Holland (where I'm originally from) the canals do get frozen sometimes, they don't ice fish (as far as I know).
Can imagine ice fishing is in the Alaskan culture...but I wonder where this custom in Minnasota and other Northern states originates -any one have an idea?
I woke up to 12 inches of snow this am. No water near me to walk on!
