Rocky Mountain National Park
Bob and I decided to drive out West to see our son and his family in Oregon.
A joyful part of retirement! Do what we want when we want.
Taking our time and visiting as many National Parks as we could we started at Rocky Mountain National Park. Pour Bob had to keep reminding me it is a Park not a Forrest.
We drove through the park and stopped many times to hike a bit and take pictures.
Sweet marmot posed for several minutes while many of us clicked away
Can you find this one? She or He, was carrying grass into it's den.
We were amazed to read about the temperatures and life in these high mountains.
There were plaques along the trail telling lots of facts
and giving some of us a reason to stop and catch our breath!
One interesting fact was that the flowers are very small and close to the ground to escape the high winds that would kill them.

Debbie, It is so gorgeous there. What state is it? That marmot reminds me of Switzerland, you got a fantastic shot of him with his grass. BTY-the link on Oh--the places i've been dosen't seem to
be working.

Wonderful photos! I've never heard of Rocky Mountain National Park. Thanks for taking us on a virtual tour. Great shot of the marmot with the grass in his mouth!
Yes, I spotted the marmot with the grass; it almost looks like a green beard!
Thanks for playing.
Happy Blue Monday, Debbie.
