Fireflies
Fun filled nights with fireflies.
Fellowship with friends around a warm fire.
Feeling like believing in faries,
Lying in the grass gazing up to the heavens as I watch the starlite sky.
One of my favorite memories as a child was
going out with a mason jar and collecting fireflies.
They are such magical insects!
In the 50's it was safe to be out after dark.
Playing hide and seek until moms voice could be heard over the crickets and casadas, calling us home.
I love this picture of Mom holding my hand. We were in California one of two trips as I grew up to visit my grandfather and his wife. My sister Kathy is next to me and my older sister Ann is the brave one

I love the jar of fireflies--so magical indeed. We all look pretty cute in that pic in the ocean. I love believing in fairies.

I LOVE fireflies! (Although I grew up in Texas, so we knew them as lightning bugs.) We don't have them here in Arizona, so one of the things I always look forward to whenever we make a trip back home is taking my kids out to see/catch them. Always a good time. :)
I was telling my husband the other nite, while we were watching fireflies behind our house, that I never got to capture them as a kid.....Maybe that's the root of all my problems!

I've yet to see a firefly in the 'real'-perhaps someday, But, I too, think they are quite magical.
Both those pictures are magical moment in time.
