When I saw this challenge on my sisters blog tin and sparkle I knew just what I wanted to do. We live on a lake and I made this Door tag for our front door. When we are in the back on the dock or playing in the lake visitors don't have to wonder if we are home! I love how it turned out. The legs are from a photo I took last year of our granddaughter playing with the water when we were on the pontoon. I might actually hang it from a door hanger so it is more visible than on the door knob.

Happy Birthday PINKIES!
It's been too long since I sat down and spent some time on the keyboard. Our internet has been going V.......E......R......Y....... s....l.....o....w.... with all the storms. Seems to be working for the moment.
Today I want to share a picture of Jasmine our Mastiff.
My question is how can such a big dog still look so graceful and cute?

I thought Spring was here but oh baby it's COLD OUTSIDE!
After a couple of beautiful days in the high 70 and 80's it dropped 30 degrees with a soft rain...UCH
I was really afraid I would loose my flowers and veggies but so far they are surviving.
The grass is starting to grow after the work we did on the landing. And anyone know how to contain basil? Mine is out of control. It is the bush right behind the light at the foot of the steps. |
Woops, guess I should have clipped the dead flowers before this shot. |
Most of my garden is in annuals and I have been adding in a few shots of color.
The back garden is beautiful and the hostas are huge this year!
Make sure you thank Susan at A southern daydreamer and Sue at Sue loves cherries
for hosting these great linky parties.

Outdoor Wednesday-Garden idea
We don't have a lot of yard that we want to use for a garden and a neighbor used this idea last year. Perfect fro a small space and to keep you produce off the ground.

The house is built on a small slope, just enough that watering was a problem last year. This year I built up two areas so I don't have as much run off when I water my plants. |
There are two rows of cucumbers on the trellis to the left that I will use ties to grow up the trellis. I will post more pictures when they are grown. If you look closely, I have a five foot stake right next to the wall to hold up the trellis. Hope you are having a great week! Blue Monday
One of my husbands co works, at their office in France, needed some software. My hubby was able to get it for him at a better price than he can there. He sent a thank you gift this week. The picture was hard to take because of the glare on the glass. This is an original piece of work. It measures about 5x5. The title is Les cailloux which translates Stones.
It was so thoughtful and we love the colors. Such a beautiful piece of art.
Have a great week.
Blessings, Debbie

Pink Saturday
I love my old dolls. I received all that I have for Christmases when I was a child. This one has always been a favorite and needed a new dress. I was in wal-mart and this was only $3. and the shoes were $4. Perfect to dress her for the summer.
Hope you have a wonderful Mothers day weekend!

I'm the youngest here, my younger sister was born when I was nine. |
I want to honor my mom who is 84.
Momma, I love you.
You are a remarkably strong, loving woman of God and I pray you have many more mothers days to celebrate.

New landing and fire pit!
Finally! Our son was able to come and finish up some work we needed done. He has a couple of years experience in landscaping so we were so glad to have him put in a stone landing at the bottom of the stairs and a fire pit. Getting ready for summer on the lake is so much fun!

The fire pit is 36" across on the inside. The gravel ring is another 2 foot. Looking forward to the first fire. |
Love these flagstone. Because of the slope of the yard we had to do some backfilling of dirt so it wasn't another step for people to trip on in the dark. Seed is planted and we have had a soft rain for two days! Now that spring is here there should be blooms to use for our outdoor Wednesday's soon. Linking with Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.
