H is for health

is for Home and Health

I love my HOME.

It isn't a house,  a house is just an empty shell.

My home is where we love and care for each other.
Where we make memories that get us through the tough times that show up in this life.
Where I know I am safe and cherished.

Health
If you knew me well, you would proably question my thinking on this one. I have struggled with my Health, Old Arthur sitting in pretty bad in my spine, torn legiment in my foot, but here is the reasoning.

I am able to get out of bed, my biggest joy in the morning is getting up and seeing my Hubby off to work.

I can walk, a friend at church had a surgery gone bad and is now in a wheelchair.

I can lift the Laundry basket, my mom shattered her shoulder last October and is still struggling.

I can feel pain, some have had accidents that leave them with only their minds working.

You see, on September 17 2008 I had a major stroke and God orchestrated the timing. I was able to be at the Hospital  in time to receive the life changing TPA(tissue plasminogen activator) drug. When administrated I had no feeling or movement and very slurred speech that took minutes to only get out a sound or two. There were two hospitals within the same distance, in opposite directions, turned out the one I was sent to was the only one that had the TPA drug on hand.

So for my letter H I am so thankful for my  Home, Health and the right Hospital.

Blessings, Debbie

I agree with you, and with Roger.
Wonderful about you going to the right hospital. I call those coincidences "God moments".
Yes, I have health problems, too, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to survive. However, we have a friend who is six years younger than I am, and dying of cancer because his doctor was treating him for an ulcer. I'm going to see my doctor on Thursday, and I'm telling him I want to be sure I'm being treated for the right things, and I want tests to make sure nothing worse is lurking unnoticed or misdiagnosed.
Keep up the good work, Debbie. You're doing great. And thanks for commenting on my blog today.

First, thanks for the comment on my blog too.
I definitely feel that a house is just a shell until love fills it and makes it a home.
God's timing is so perfect. I'm glad you got the correct treatment for your stroke. What do the initials mean(meds you got)
Old Arthur has begun visiting me too but like you I'm so thankful for what I have and can do.

Sigh -I lived in a Home, but now I live in a house - time to make it into a home!

Lovely to meet you. Love your outlook too. I don't believe in coincidences either, I think it's when we are let in to see God's plan for a brief moment.

I love the house and home distinction - which is so true. Home can really be anywhere the heart is!

I am Happy for you, Debbie, that you were able to receive the TPA at the right time, and that life finds you doing what you always wanted to do. I am off now to go and see some of your lovely artwork....
