Hi!  Did anyone miss me?  My honey and I were gone on a wonderful warm cruise last week so I didn't have assess to a computer.  There are a few but the minutes are very expensive and slow.

Today I thought I would share just a couple of blues from the trip.  Visit back because I'm sure there will be lots to share over the next couple of weeks.

Our room.  We had a balcony with a view of the Boardwalk of the ship.  It was toward the back of the ship and the zip line went right past us.  We also had a view of the ships new aqua theater  with seating for 300 and two different shows.  One a comedy and the other with lots of divers and swimmers.
Our room was on the 11th floor on the right of this picture.
The person on the balcony is on the 10th floor right below ours.

diving from 32 foot on a moving ship!!!!

The aqua theater also had water to music at different times during the evening.

My honey on the zip line and yes, I did it too

What a wonderful relaxing week.  Blessings, Debbie

Think I'll head over to Blue Monday and check out the other links while I still have electric.  There is supposed to be a record breaking ice storm coming in starting in a couple of hours.  They are expecting 2 inches of ICE!!!! ouch.

Vintage Shakers = Great Goodwill Find!

Ok all you wonderful vintage lovers out there, I need your help.  I have searched with google and can come up with nothing on these cool shakers. The only thing I can find are cocktail shakers but not the same brand and nothing in a set. They are in MINT condition, not a scratch or dent.

The lettering on the bottom is R.R. International, made in India.  BTW I only paid $3.00 yeah!

Look forward to your comments and any ideas on value.  Make sure you go by and check out all the other great vintage post at Vintage Thingie Thursday  that Suzanne so graciously hosts.

Blessings, Debbie

It never seems to amaze me what some people do for "fun"!
I guess they do this so they can say they can walk on water.
I, on the other hand, would rather buy my fish in the winter.

This picture was taken from our deck.

Have a great Outdoor Wednesday and Watery Wednesday! Blessings, Debbie

Bring out the Clowns....

Thought on a cold Blue Monday you could all use a laugh.  Also sharing this lovely snow globe our 6 yr. old granddaughter made in school.

Joining Smiling Sally for this great link party!  Make sure you stop by and tell her hi!
This picture is of me when I dressed up as a clown for a church fest.  I'm afraid I damaged some kids though, one little girl wouldn't quit crying and the parents had to take her home.  I made the outfit including the hat.
Have a GREAT week and blessings to you and those you love, Debbie

For all my beautiful friends, take time to listen this is an amazing truth EVERY woman needs to hear.

The days will come when you don't have the strength
When all you hear is you're not worth anything
Wondering if you ever could be loved
And if they truly saw your heart they'd see too much

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are made so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are treasured, You are sacred, You are His
You're beautiful

And praying that you have the heart to find
Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight
For all the lies you've held inside so long
And they are nothing in the shadow of the cross

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are made so much more than all of this
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You are treasured, You are sacred, You are His
You're beautiful
Blessings to you and those you love this week. Debbie

Interesting "facts" on PINK

The most romantic color, pink, is more tranquilizing. Sports teams sometimes paint the locker rooms used by opposing teams bright pink so their opponents will lose energy.1

The Effects of the Color Pink

How the color pink affects us physically and mentally
  • Stimulates energy (hmm didn't the last one say they will LOSE energy?) must be the shade...
  • Can increase the blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate
  • Encourages action and confidence
  • Pink has been used in prison holding cells to effectively to reduce erratic behavior 2

Pink is a mixture of red and white. The use of the word for the color we know today as pink was first recorded in the late 17th century.
Although the pink is roughly considered just as a tint of red, in fact most variations of pink lie between red, white and magenta colors. This means that the pink's hue is somewhat between red and magenta.[
Roseus is a Latin word meaning "rosy" or "pink." 3
The Meaning of the color Pink  The color and material used in Elizabethan Clothing was extremely important. People who could wear the color Pink was dictated by English Law! These were called the Sumptuary Laws. The colors of Elizabethan clothes, including the color Pink, provided information about the status of the man or woman wearing them. This was not just dictated by the wealth of the person, it also reflected their social standing. The meaning of colors during the Elizabethan era represented many aspects of their life - the social, religious, biblical and Christian symbolism was reflected in the color Pink!4

so if you love to wear pink you must be royalty!

Now that you know the "facts",  my pink for the day is from a nursery I painted for a client.  You have to look close to see that the faces of the children are actually photographs worked into the painting of sisters and cousins.

Even the family dog got into the picture.  This room was all yellow (rather bright for my taste but it was already done when I arrived.)  The mural covered just one wall in the room.
Hope you enjoyed your visit at the paint splash.
 Blessings, Debbie

SNOW FUN

For this weeks challenge at Kard Krazy we were asked to use fabric on our tag.

My fabric is the white satin snow that my son and granddaughter were sledding in when she was 4.

The words at the bottom didn't photograph well  they are:

May we never forget the flavor of snowflakes!

The original picture is one of my favorites of the two of them.

Have a Blessed week!

1vin·tage

 noun \ˈvin-tij\
a : a period of origin or manufacture

“Generally speaking, clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing. Clothing from the 1920s to 1975 is considered vintage, and clothing manufactured from 1975 until twenty years ago is referred to as retro clothing.”

Going through some old photos I found this on of me when I was 16.
I guess according to what I found on line I must be vintage, not just aging  lol.

Love this picture though.  I says all there is to say about vintage.

I had made the dress. a woven polyester. Puffy sleeves and long cuffs. The shoes, don't you love the clunky heals and buckles:  and check out the green chair and moms ceramic  diamonds for the seasons.  My hair was quite long and I wore it up a lot.  OH what I wouldn't do to still have that figure!
And enjoy visiting all the other great vintage posts with Suzanne at Coloradolady
Hope you enjoyed going back in time a bit. Blessings, Debbie

Dream wedding... Church in the wildwood...

My sister who is mentally handicapped always dreamed of getting married.  She functions well but still lives with mom.  Several years ago I painted this for her.  It's not perfect but I love the colors and feel of the painting and wanted to share it with you for Blue Monday, Outdoor Wednesday and Redensday.

I also want to share a prayer request with you and ask that if you believe in the power of prayer you will copy the picture in the sidebar  and post  it.

Behind the smile is sometimes more pain than we can imagine.

My  wonderful 14 year old granddaughter needs a touch from the Lord.  May God of heaven reach down and touch her life with peace, joy and purpose.  Thank you and God Bless.

I am linking to all of these today and praying to get the word out for pray for my granddaughter.

It seems so simple to say but there are times we face in life that are so difficult, dark and lonely.
The truth is...it is simple

Tonight my heart is heavy.  So many in the world try to go through their problems alone.  The world is filled with sorrow that can not be explained.  Things happening that even science can not understand.  It is time for us to reach into the back of our minds, become childlike and only believe.  I pray you are blessed with a peace that passes all understanding as you trust in the only answer. Jesus.

Blessings, Debbie

Christmas has come and gone.  We have survived the whirlwind of decorating, baking choosing the "perfect" gifts, making some and then off to visit family.
You see, I am the gypsy of the family.

When I married 39 years ago I moved 5 hours away we have lived in 8 states and Germany twice.

OK... I know there is some pink in here! OH yes, my new pink winter background!  Next week I will get back to posting real pinks.

Our Christmas trek started at our son's in Bloomington.  His girlfriend and his daughter cooked a wonderful meal and we enjoyed him playing a few songs for us after opening gifts.

We then took our granddaughter with us on a long but fun trip for all.  We started celebrating in Kansas City where my sisters still live.
Lots of food

After watching the movie the grinch it was only fitting we had shirts to remember it by.  The one in red is Ann of tin and sparkle
Lots of fun and visiting with nieces, nephews and great nieces
along with my mom and sisters and their husbands.

Then driving farther into Kansas to visit my in-laws and hubbies side of the family.

Bob's parents went with us to Texas to visit our daughter, son in law and our other 4 grandchildren.

Nothing like making others sit through your family vacation and photos
but maybe you get just a sense of how wonderfully blessed I am.

I pray you were able to have a great holiday and that this year finds you truly BLESSED. Debbie

Linking up with Pink Saturday, make sure you leave a comment so I know you came by and I will return the visit.
